The Ex-Boyfriend

By: Andre Grandier
The single snap of a dry branch nearby tore the silence behind her. Daisy Orellana whirled around and glared at the thick darkness stalking her from behind and froze into place. The light of a single street light quivered in her clear honey-colored eyes as she scrutinized the shadows, unable to move. It was a moonless night, a dark and hollow well with a few shiny white starts set off in the empty yonder of vast eternity. Daisy’s heart pounded fast and smoothly in her chest and she could feel the adrenaline running in her bloodstream already. She knew she was being followed. She knew she was in danger and yet there she was, standing in a deserted part of Roscoe Boulevard with only one street light keeping her company. She also knew who her stalker was ,which as a matter of fact was the reason she was there in the first place, in her useless attempt avoid him. She prayed to be in a horrible mistake for if it was who she thought, she had no chance to survive.
“Who is there” Daisy demanded in a sharp tone. The adrenaline making her feel bold and defiant. “Show yourself” The moment she said it she regretted it for a dark figure started to approach. Daisy recoiled with fear and her eyes widened in horror as the figure came toward her. All of a sudden she felt her feet were no longer in touch with the ground as an icy thrill crept down her spine. The figure came to be seen, approaching broodingly into the dull streetlight, the black eyes on that face were as dark  and empty the night surrounding them. His bleak expression twisted with fury as he looked at her in an ominous way. The face she was terrified to see. Carlos Hernandez, her ex-boyfriend. Daisy was too muddle to react, too afraid to speak and too horrified to move. Her racing heart seemed to have stopped beating as she shivered, but not because she was cold. Daisy wanted to run but her legs wouldn’t move, they were useless. Limp and listless. Two uncooperative piles of meat and bone. She wanted to scream but a lump that had built in her throat prevented her to do so. Swallowing hard she managed to chock out. “Carlos I--…”  Daisy couldn’t finish the sentence for a fist came crashing to her face. Before she could react a pair of big hands grasped her by the shoulders shaking her violently and shoving her hard against the light pole. Pain exploded from her head and she crumbled to the ground, her sight became blurry as she was swallowed by the thick darkness around her.

                                                                         ***
Daisy opened her eyes slowly and found herself on a huge bed covered in clean white linen and silk, the walls were white as well. The warm scent of lilacs was held in the air. Groggily, she got up and muttered to herself Where am I … At that moment Carlos came into the room. He was only wearing white pants and sandals, his face had left that bleak and brooding expression from before, now he looked at her dreamingly and tenderly. His gaze locked into hers. His brown muscles gleamed with sweat as they flexed. Daisy started to say something but Carlos held out his finger to stop her. Then he leaned closer, so close she could feel the heat coming out of his body, the sweet scent of his breath against her. Carlos stared at her eyes, then at her tender lips, his fingers touched her chin and lifted her face towards his. Their lips met in a long lasting kiss. Carlos’ tongue slipped serpent-like into Daisy’s. Daisy felt lust take over her. She no longer felt confused or angry only that she wanted Carlos, She wanted him so badly.
His hands traveled around Daisy’s body, wanting to touch every curb, every inch of skin .his hands slipped down her blouse and ripped it off, kissing her face , kissing her neck and biting it playfully, filling Daisy with a wild pleasure. Her skirt had the same fate as her blouse. Once again his hands traveled behind her and loosened the grip of her bra letting it fall feely. They kissed with such urgency, with such passion as if they had never kissed before, as if it were the last time and yet the first. He was on top of her now, somehow he had left what he had of clothing on aside, Daisy moaned in ecstasy as his master mouth planted soft and sweet kisses in her neck traveling down to her bare breasts and sucking at them tenderly. Daisy clung to him feeling how hard his body was, feeling every muscle, the two of them soaked with sweat. A savage pleasure swept over her forcing her to cry out. Carlos held her between his strong arms resting in the heat of their love. “ I love you..” was the last thing Daisy heard before she drifted into a world of dreams.

The fifth death -- Dead Alone

DEAD AlONE
By André Grandier
There he was, trying to concentrate on that blank piece of paper Raul Valdez couldn't concentrate, he just couldn't, only think about what Alisson had told him the story of that ghost girl who had died -or better say- murdered, that girl who had bled to death without anyone to help her, someone had cut her throat, and now she wandered around school seeking for revenge. Suddenly Ral --as his friends called him-- shook his head as if trying to shake away those thoughts.
"If only I had done all my schoolwork at the time, I wouldn’t have to be here"  muttered Ral to himself. “But no, I had to spend most of my time trying to improve my time running instead of studying”.
Ral was an 18 year old college boy with short, shaggy dusky hair. His bronze-colored eyes were big and expresive and contrasted nicely with his creamy white skin. He had to stay at the school’s library to study for his English Literature final test. The teacher had given him just one day, a last chance to study everything he had missed, so he stayed late. By the time he had finished, it was already dark outside. The library was so well illuminated that he could see nothing but darkness beyond the door. Ral decided then it was time to go, he gathered up his books and stepped out from the safe illuminated and warm library to the cold, thrilling and frightening darkness." it's not that bad".Ral thought . The Nebraska University was big so it was at least a 5 minute walk to the Main Entrance where his car was pulled.
But, why does it have to be so dark? .Ral groaned. Suddenly the story of the ghost girl popped again into his mind. He felt a sudden thrill roll down his spine as he touched his own throat, then he heard something.
Was his imagination? Or was somebody following him?
He stopped and listened, but heard nothing but his own breath.
"It is nothing, just your crazy imagination", Ral assured himself and kept walking, but then again he heard it, as soft as the wind.
   "Raaal..." it whispered .
Ral felt his heart pumping hard in his chest and the hot blood running through his whole body.
There is someone following me ... run!! He commanded himself.
Ral started to run as fast as he could pumping his arms hard . He headed to the parking lot and when He got there stopped to catch his breath.
"If only I had ran like this during Track and Field I would have probably won a scholarship " Ral thought. Breathlessly, he tried to open the door of his car, but dropped the keys . He bended to pick them up and heard it again but this time, closer. Ral was frozen in fear and was sweating cold. She forced his  trembling right hand into a fist and decided to face his attacker, but when he turned around he stood frozen in horror as he saw a floating - almost transparent - girl in a cheerleader uniform covered in blood. Ral felt his heart stopping; his scream was caught up in his throat, his legs felt weak. He gasped as something cold and sharp touched his throat, then he felt it, first the hot liquid roll down his chest and then the excruciating pain. He lowered his gaze to see the blood flow as a river. He dropped on his knees.
Oh...my neck, someone has cut my neck! . He felt himself fell into a puddle of his own blood as he muttered helplessly
"Help, anyone...help!". He spun his hand around looking for something that might save him, but all he found were his keys.
